Postpartum Doula

A Postpartum Doula is a trained professional that offers physical and emotional support to a new mom and family. She will come into your home to nurture the new mom, along with hands-on evidence-based knowledge of quality care for your new baby. She will provide a listening ear for your concerns and be your mentor and educator. Services differ from client to client, depending on your needs, but she is always there to Mother the Mother!

Due to our transient society, many new parents don't have the immediate and local support from their families OR they only have a few days to a week. Postpartum doula care and support helps make the transition to parenthood a happy and joyful time, without being overwhelmed and stressed.

Studies indicate that new mothers have much better success with breastfeeding when they receive support and training at home during the first few weeks after giving birth. Successful breastfeeding is a predominant concern of almost every new mother. I can help you and baby with basic strategies and problem-solving if necessary. Correct positioning and proper latch for baby are important for success.

I will nurture and teach the family. I will help with newborn care and soothing techniques. Nursery organization, meal preparation, errands, mom and baby laundry and light housekeeping are also a few of the duties I will perform to allow mom the opportunity to rest, heal and learn in a stress-free environment. This extra time also allows more bonding time with that new little person.

I will support your choices and decisions without judgment or prejudice. THIS IS YOUR BABY! My job is to provide parents the knowledge and confidence needed to quickly become independent, rested, and well prepared parents. My ultimate goal is to work myself out of a job quickly!
