About Me!
My
name is Lisa R. Reinhardt and I am a wife, mother, and
grandmother. I live in New London, NC and believe that
family should be first and foremost in everyone's life!
Even though I birthed and raised two daughters, nothing
will outweigh the experience of being a birth/labor doula
for my oldest daughter. While my son-in-law was serving
our country in Iraq, I had the good fortune of being able
to spend 9 weeks with my oldest daughter prior to and
after Landon was born. It was wonderful caring for her
and supporting her during her birth experience.
Although medical interventions snowballed and my daughter
eventually had a cesarean, I was totally in awe of how
a mother's body naturally works during the labor process.
I attended and watched the cesarean and was amazed. During
those 9 weeks, my daughter and I discussed how I absolutely
loved nurturing and caring for her.
Shortly after that experience my youngest daughter mentioned
that being a Doula would be the perfect profession for
me. I had never heard of a doula, but after researching
and reading all I could, I knew this was my calling and
passion.
As a result of my training and research, I have come to
understand that women need to know their options in childbirth.
Knowledge is critical; it leads to empowerment - empowerment
that will enable them to advocate for a childbirth experience
THEIR WAY.
