Welcome to my page!
My goal
with this website is to inform you of how a Birth Doula
and a Postpartum Doula can make your pregnancy, birth and
postpartum period one of the easiest and most gratifying
times of your life! After all, this is what your body and
your heart were made for!
A
Labor Doula is a professionally-trained woman
who offers continuous knowledge, comfort, support and
encouragement to the woman during labor, birth, and immediately
after birth. She does NOT take dad's place; she is there
for him as well. Studies show that having a labor doula
present decreases stress and raises the likelihood of
positive birth outcomes. A doula provides continuous
non-medical support throughout the entire labor and birth
process.
A
Postpartum Doula
is also a professionally-trained woman who comes into
your home after the birth to nurture
and pamper the mother. She educates the parents
on baby care, soothing techniques, feeding, and other
baby knowledge, but her main goal is to take care of the
mother and the household. She will take over running the
household so that mom can bond with baby, heal, and rest
in a stress-free environment. Postpartum doula studies
indicate that parents who use a postpartum doula have
better success at breastfeeding and less postpartum mood
disorders.
Mother Me Doula Care
can
serve your family throughout your childbearing year. It
will be a very challenging year, but with the support
of a knowledgeable doula, it can be stress-free and result
in one of the most empowering and beautiful experiences
of your life. The reassurance and confidence that you
will gain from your doula as your journey continues will
be priceless.
Every
woman has the right to be informed and educated about
all aspects of pregnancy, childbirth and labor and how
to give their newborn quality care. She has a right to
make her own decisions and not be told where, how, when,
and what time to have her baby.
Education
is the key to these decisions and empowers new parent(s)
to make the right choices for them. A doula can empower
you through the knowledge she has learned in her professional
training and personal experience.
